Program Overview
The grant provides eligible Jersey City UEZ-certified businesses with lease subsidy assistance for one year, up to $50,000, to promote business stability, job creation, and growth within the Urban Enterprise Zone.
Applications will be accepted through June 30, 2026.
Eligibility Requirements
Business Requirements

At time of application, business must be open and operating at the leased location for at least 6 months

NJ Business Registration Certificate

Current Jersey City UEZ certification

Have at least 1 Full-time employee or 2 Part-time employees. This does not include the business owner

Up-to-date with all local and state taxes
Lease Requirements

Minimum 3-year commercial lease duration

Lease must be signed and fully executed as of January 1, 2025

Space must be located within Jersey City's designated UEZ zone
Ineligible Businesses
Non-Profits, Franchises, Cannabis, Mobile and Home Businesses are ineligible
Before You Apply

Confirm your business is physically located within a Jersey City Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ)

Verify that your business is currently UEZ-certified and in good standing with the State of NJ

At time of application, Business must be open and operating at the leased location for at least 6 months.
