The major electric and gas utility servicing Jersey City is Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G). The utility has adequate capacity to serve current needs of residents and businesses in Jersey City, and has planned expansion to meet the needs of the growing community on into the next century.

PSE&G offers businesses a complete relocation assistance program at begins with access to the utility's extensive database of available sites. can answer questions about utility rates, taxes, housing and transportation regarding any of the various communities within their service area. access this information, Call Rich Franklin at 1-973-430-6056.

The utility offers additional assistance, including rate reductions as much as 15% for new business cusmers in Jersey City, through their Business Enhancement Programs. under the program, businesses may find their rates significantly lower than those in New York City, Long Island, or Connecticut.

Businesses moving into 15,000 sq. ft. or more vacant space receive no kw demand charges for one year and a three-cent credit per therm of gas used under their Economic Incentive Rates program.

For their Employment Development Service program, PSE&G gives businesses a minimum credit of $15 per month to encourage the hiring of new, full time employees and a two year credit of $.005 per kw/hr for off-peak use.
