Location, infrastructure, and tax rates are key elements in choosing a business site, but as important as they are, they are meaningless without people. Highly trained and skilled people.

There is an abundance of highly skilled people living within Jersey City, and the community has taken the steps necessary to insure that there will continue to be, by providing for an excellent system of secondary schools, both public and private, as well as supporting a number of excellent post-secondary educational facilities.

Hudson County Community College, a two-year institution, provides a broad range of educational opportunities at an affordable cost. Both one-year certificate and two-year Associate Degree programs are available and all programs offer students flexibility in choosing a course of study.

All programs include liberal arts and professional/technical courses. In designing curriculum courses, the faculty at HCCC seeks to offer programs that anticipate trends in the job market and provide students with relevant experience that will increase their employability in today's competive job market.

The College's Career Institute has developed special courses in conjunction with government, business, labor and industry, and plays a significant role in economic development for Jersey City and Hudson County.

HCCC provides their educational services at a number of convenientlylocated centers throughout the County, including HCCC's Bilingual Center in West New York, N.J. One of onIv 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the U.S., St. Peter's is the only one in New Jersey. Since 1872, it has upheld the highest traditions of excellence in academic education.

Today, the College offers 34 major programs leading to a bachelor's degree, and 9 majors leading to an associate degree. St. Peter's also offers a Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration and Supervision, Teaching, and Urban Education, and the Master of Business Administration in Management Information Systems.

Total enrollment at St. Peter's is 3,561 students including the 432 students enrolled at the branch campus at Englewood Cliffs in Bergen County. The branch campus was established primarily to serve the needs of working adults from nearby corporate parks and medical centers who want to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees through evening and weekend study.
