EDUCATION
Location, infrastructure, and tax rates
are key elements in choosing a
business site, but as important as they
are, they are meaningless without
people. Highly trained and skilled
people.
There is an abundance of highly
skilled people living within Jersey City,
and the community has taken the steps
necessary to insure that there will
continue to be, by providing for an
excellent system of secondary schools,
both public and private, as well as
supporting a number of excellent post-secondary educational facilities.
The Jersey City Public School
District is the State's 2nd largest. There
are 31 elementary, five high, and one
special needs school helping 27,263
students develop the skills they'll take
into the work force. For additional
information from the district, call 201-915-6000.
Jersey City is also home to a number
of private, post-secondary skills-training facilities like the Chubb
Institute that provides computer
training for students wishing to gain
skills in areas important to the labor
market.
For students seeking a college
degree, there are several excellent
