JERSEY CITY The former headquarters for the Trust Company of New Jersey bank is on the market again, with an asking price of $42 million. The listing marks the second time the 84-year-old property has been up for sale in the last two years. The current owner, Journal Square Properties, a subsidiary of New York City residential real estate developer Sackman Enterprises, purchased the building in 2005. Massey Knakal Realty Services of New York is handling the current sale of the Journal Square landmark, which was known for its sign with the red letters on top of the building.
North Fork Bank, which acquired Trust Company in 2004, currently occupies about 10 percent of the 12-story, 201,000 square-foot building and will remain a tenant.
