The Business Improvement Grant program helps local retail property and business owners to spruce up the outside appearance of stores and buildings with matching grants of up to $20,000. The grants will be made to address a combination of the following areas of a building’s front exterior:
  • Cleaning and painting
  • New signage and awnings
  • Storefront door and window repairs
    and replacements
  • Wall repairs (including the repair or installation of decorative/design features)
  • Security gates (see-through style only)
  • Building-mounted street and façade lighting
  • Façade code violation eradication
  • Other miscellaneous façade improvements
To apply, the property or business owner must obtain and submit three written estimates from three separate licensed contractors for each project. Complete details may be obtained by phoning 201-333-7797.
