The Jersey CIty Urban Enterprise Zone Program has shared in funding several Streetscape Improvement Projects throughout the City.
Several Streetscape projects throughout the City have been undertaken to provide visual consistency, added beauty as well as increased pedestrian safety that is in keeping with Jersey City’s new vitality.

These projects are designed to make the neighborhood shopping districts of Jersey City more attractive, with special consideration given to the character and needs of each unique community. Most often, these projects include: new sidewalks and crosswalks; planting trees, shrubs and flowers; adding lampposts and flag/banner poles as well as benches, bike racks, kiosks, and more.

The Jersey City Economic Development Corporation works in cooperation with the Jersey City Department of Public Works and the Division of Engineering to efficiently use Urban Enterprise Zone funds to complete streetscape projects that also include funding from the New Jersey Department of Transportation and federal sources.
